Club Rules

The club is affiliated with the BMFA and their member's handbook forms the basis for the club rules. In addition the following rules and regulations are in force:

  • Flying times are from 10am to 7pm on weekdays. At weekends silent flight starts at ten wilst IC-powered flight commences from noon. Flying at weekends continues until dusk.
  • There must be no more than six aircraft flying at once.
  • Only authorised club instructors may teach members to fly.
  • The club operates a 'peg-off' pegboard system for frequency control which must be used by all members
  • Due to the close proximity of the Bickley Model Flying club we operate a frequency-sharing system for the 35 Mhz band with Concord members only using even frequencies.Note also that occasionally the two clubs hold joint events at the Bickley field when all frequencies are required; on those days the Concord flying field is closed.
  • Entry to the flying field is controlled by two gates. The outer gate has a combination lock and the code is given to all members. The inner gate has a padlock which requires a key that is provided to all members once they have acquired their BMFA 'A' certificate. The inner gate should be left locked at all times.
  • Flying is not permitted over the lakes, car park and pits area. In addition there should be no low flying over the Roman Villa Road except when taking off or landing.
  • No low flying over people or cars on the foot paths or club field entrance.
  • Models must be restrained when starting and running engines. Running engines must be facing the flying area.
  • The only people allowed in the pilot box are those flying models and instructors.
